Value Propositions: World-ranked R&D clusters in the Toronto Region

The Toronto Region is home to several world-ranked clusters of research and technology.  The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) determined the region's research and development strengths based on: data analysis (top authors, numbers of patents, leading R&D spenders, etc.); interviews with approximately 60 local subject matter experts; and  an inventory of research funding (e.g., contract research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) grants, infrastructure grants; etc.). 

The top R&D clusters in the Toronto Region are defined by six key strengths that for the basis of the cluster value proposition:
