Focus	Providing facilities and support services to qualifying technology business entrepreneurs looking to accelerate the commercialization of their product or service
Services	Provides a fertile environment to commercialize the innovative work done in universities and colleges, hospitals and laboratories, and in private sector research facilities Offers a broad range of services, including IP management consultation, mentoring, access to professional service providers, community networking events and investor matchmaking with innovators Common services including office and meeting space, administrative services, etc. will be available to clients, who will be encouraged to commercialize their ideas and ultimately lease space in other areas of the Research Park.
Background	The Accelerator Centre, a not-for-profit organization, opened in May 2006, and is strategically positioned in the region's only Research & Technology Park. It is the result of the partnership formed for this project, with the initial capital funding provided by the Province of Onatrio, the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, and the City of Waterloo.
Current Examples of Initiatives	Negotiating for an expansion into a nearby building with another 20,000 sq.ft, hoping for the Accelerator Centre to double in size within a year to support an additional 15 to 20 companies
