| Background | Home to technological interests ranging from pharmaceuticals to 3D cinematography, from petrochemicals to satellite telecommunications, from mining and metallurgy to reprography and imaging, from engineering to electrochemistry, Sheridan Science and Technology Park is one of the very few research communities in the world initiated and built entirely by industry. The founding companies - Abitibi, AECL, Cominco Ltd., Dunlop Research Centre, Gulf Oil, Inco Limited, Mallory Batteries, the Ontario Research Foundation and Warner-Lambert, developed their laboratories and offices in 1965 on the Sheridan Park Research Community which is now the 340 acre Sheridan Science and Technology Park devoted entirely to industrial research and development. | ||
