- MaRS Business Advisory Services, a team of cross-functional advisors, provides hands-on services - from business strategy and market research to financing and partnering strategy - to entrepreneurs with emerging companies in life sciences, clean-tech, advanced materials, information and communications technology. In 2008, the group had more than 100 active clients and had provided market research to hundreds more.
- MaRS-branded programs, including the flagship Entrepreneurship 101 series, aim to equip entrepreneurs and business leaders with the tools they need to succeed.
- Specialized laboratory and business incubation facilities at the MaRS Centre are purposefully designed for and populated by some of the area's top scientists and young companies.
- Other tenants at MaRS include a mix of mid-size and established global companies, professional services firms, research labs, investors, technology transfer offices and policy-making organizations - all located in an architecturally unique downtown location that encourages the convergence of people and ideas.
- MaRS Collaboration Centre offers a 15,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose conference and meeting facility that hosts international delegations, national conferences, meetings and workshops of all kinds.
- The MaRS portal as well as the MaRS blog and electronic newsletters connect more than 200,000 monthly visitors to extend MaRS' reach globally.

| Background |
The MaRS Centre is an independent not-for-profit corporation created in 2000 by a group of visionary business and community leaders concerned about Canada's performance in the innovation economy. Located at the gateway to Toronto's Discovery District, the 700,000 sq. ft. Centre incorporates a Heritage building (the renovated former College Wing of Toronto General Hospital) and two modern glass towers. It officially opened in 2005.

Announced in 2008, a new partnership — called MaRS Innovation — was launched to aggregate and optimize the commercial potential of 14 research institutions across Toronto.
